SMPTE and Avid Publish New ST 2067-70 Standard for the VC-3 Codec in Interoperable Master Format (IMF)

SMPTE and Avid have collaborated to publish a new standard, SMPTE ST 2067-70, which integrates the VC-3 codec (Avid's DNx brand) into the Interoperable Master Format (IMF). This enables seamless usage of VC-3 as a production and distribution codec, ensuring high-quality content delivery without transcoding.
